time to take stock...

So lovely being home, at least kind of....we have had a million and one things to do and catch up on with me being away so long....over an early cup of tea we started to get a focus on where we are going and what we are doing, what we like to do, what we have to do and how can we maximise the time we can do things together.
Being away as much as I have for the last 2 months is not good for either of us.
We do like the hotel idea but really as an extension of our home it would be much nicer [2 hotels is definitely not fun, takes up too much time for the returns we get and keeps one of us stuck in Pushkar all the time]...we are working towards our home becoming a guesthouse....small, family feeling, we [OK I ] can see all the details that need to be watched, we are both around to help look after our customers...altogether better situation.
Many people are coming to us specificaly for textiles whether in the Studio or to make special orders for them..., The Pukka Studio is just about to fly and calnedar is emerging of artist-in-residences and a workshop programme is being fleshed out...It is all focused in our home already.
We enjoy cooking classes and our new purpose built kitchen is fabulous...we run those together and enjoy the visitors as well.

Feels good, like the right direction for us emerging...
the morning light is so lovely...
and our growing menagerie, means it will be a real farm-stay situation in a small Indian village but only 2 kilometres from the craziness of the Pushkar Bazaar....good combination I think.
We are staring to plan a wall to surround our property, perhaps we will have luxury safari tents for next year and onto some built rooms, the year after....do rather likethe ideas of tents, I slept in one recently on tour, you could go crazy with decorations....
off to check on some stitching work from my ladies, get the house ready for Gourmet Indian Cooking Classes and generally have a big day....hopefully half an hour to get some seeds in the garden after our recent rain....

Sounds like a lovely idea, might even think about India if I ever have enough money, and come to you, being a farm girl much more fun than a city. Loved pouring over your 'stuff' at Geelong.
