Peas and Mushrooms....

Life feels about this fast at the moment!!
I know life is fast in the western world...here it runs at a totally different pace....
in total I made 10 trips to various police stations to finally get one stamp that gives me a permanent addresss in India!! yippee! I now officially live here.
For all the conveniences of the western world do you have as much special??
it is now nearly summer, it is hot and the fruit stalls are bulging with mangoes and melons- luscious sweet mangoes and melons...they have not been seen since last summer and you know you need to get in and enjoy while they are here...and you do.
I totally understand now how Nigella Lawson can talk of being greedy when she tatses some things.
That edge of special and the knowledge you need to appreciate them now because the season will ends adds a lot of appreciation to life.

Peas and Mushrooms is a dish I was eating greedily up until the weather got warm and there were no mushrooms or peas in the market...fresh the peas are the best, taking time to sit and shuck them builds your appreciateion of the treat in store for you...I suppose you could use frozen, nearly as good but noit quite so.
