headway being made....

Had a fabulous day yesterday, finally spent quality time at the blockprinters....
and a day's printing means my arm is aching today! An old chook out of practice....
a new piece that will become light a gauzy when washed. This is a layer in a sundress we are working on for Tasty Old Chooks Clothes....
We have 2 colourways in this now and I am mixiung paint today for the next one....yeh!

A warm jacket idea I am playing with....blockprint traditions influenced strongly by Zac's grafitti art [ and now years of photographing grafitti all over the world for him] have really sunk in.
Zac uses stencilling a lot which is so similar to blocks....either he is painting onto an old wall , over other work or building coloured layered bases on the canvas.....
I can do something he can't add extra texture with stitch....which is what is going to happen to these babies....before they get made up.
Vijay, Nandu's oldest boy hard to the table....he is most interested with what I am playing at doing the printing different....most amused at the inability I have of printing a straigh line of prints.....as to the random effect of some ...boy does it engender a lot of questioning as the printers try and find a pattern or count to put it in context for their way of looking at designs....
an interesting jacket should have an interesting lining....
The gorgeous Radhi....he is my best little mate....Praveen is starting to get very clucky telling Nandu yesterday we were going to take him home with us. How lovely but what about the times you want to sit quietly with a glass of wine in the evenings, sleep in a little late, go off on a romantic week end? Isn't it better to visit?

Newest idea evolving- again a very light cloth that will be part of gauzy layers in a top.
Here in India you tend to wear a few layers of gauzy clothes- when layered they are not see through but air movement is still good for coolness.
The same fabrics are often used to make cheap western clothes but on single layer so they are frustrating see through....

Newset stitching work eveloving into a bag....just need a little tweaking to the shape and this will be a beauty.
we have been asked to make some bag kits for a lady - a fabulous suggestion- we will supply one of these stitched panels and some heavy handloom cloth and a few things to teak it all with and some instructions....this week job to sort out.
Oh happy days at work :)
