We have an idea...

Bit of a funny day....our gang are all leaving.
We have just spent the last 3 weeks hanging out and traveling with an inspiring bunch, and although it will be lovely to go home and play with new ideas...I will miss our days together.

This has been a tour with the brief to explore the arts, textiles and culture of Rajasthan and beyond....and so we have travelled and seen many wonderful things, amazing workshops and met wonderful people along the way.
A small highlight was just sitting still in 2 places and spending time stitching and making various things...time to let some of what we had seen percolate through our hands and minds and exchange ideas....

Well what an idea...it has been sitting there for a while I must admit and never come to the surface but I suppose recent experiences of 2 weeks of University students and now this time has made just the right ferment....
I think soon Creative Arts Safaris will become a little more stationary and present an Inspiring Indian Creative Camp.

Details to be worked on but already I can see it will fit into 2 weeks, before the camp people will have the chance to make up a design for us to organize at the block carvers,
when they arrive in Delhi we can hit a wonderful wholesale market for fabric, at home we have a wide range of handloom fabrics,
we will spend a day or 2 at the mud resist indigo man, natural iron back guy....time at home with Nandu Blockprint Madam, our Stitching Ladies...perhaps Sanju from Bihar can come and do a stitch workshop.....just need a few more things to drop into place and we will be sorted....we have the workshop to turn some of this bounty into special garments....
February 2015 look out!!
We could pop out and see my shoe embroidery guy and bespoke a design to go on traditional hand made jooti...
ideas cooking up rather well.
